Donald E. Knuth against software patents

On April 28th, 2009 Prof. Donald E. Knuth sent a letter to the European Patent Office stating his position against patenting of software. The Groklaw forum brings a commentary on that letter.

At EPO's web site one can find a list of amicus curiae letters send in connection with the G 3/08 case on patentability of software filed with the EPO's Enlarged Court of Appeal. The case was filed on October 22, 2008.

Amongst others Red Hat's amicus curiae letter has received a commentary on Groklaw.
